OLIVE OIL & PHILOSOPHY

1. OLIVE OIL

Take 1 Tbs organic olive oil (Flatlands Olive & Mill: www.flatlandsoliveoil.com is a good choice!) + 1Tbs of fresh lemon juice first thing in the morning. Combine in a small dish, emulsify with a form and drink before anything else to kick-start your metabolism, detoxify your liver and get your skin glowing.

2. YIN YOGA

Attend a yin yoga class, which targets the deep connective tissues of the body, which beyond impacting our mobility hold deep-seeded stress and buried emotions.

3. PHILOSOPHY

Spend half an hour reading philosophy, either something current, like The Forty Rules of Love by Elif Shafak, or ancient, such as On The Shortness of Life by Seneca. While the eras in which these were written are vastly different, the human experience and its trials reveal themselves as the same. This reminder tends to put our current personal and societal problems into perspective.
