TOGETHER WE BELONG is a fundraiser that will support the local legal and activist work in defending and protecting asylum seekers detained in federal prison in Sheridan Oregon.  we are huge fans of the local organization Innovation Law Lab who are rallying the legal rapid response efforts for immigrants in Oregon.

Chelsea Strautman is a single mother, creative entrepreneur and social justice advocate. Today, she runs her own law firm, focusing on immigrant and human rights.  She recently launched The CALLBS Company, and has been “taking care of sh*t since 2018” through intuitive and subversive community-organizing and political strategy. Chelsea will help shed light on the fight against the ICE Zero Tolerance policy and what we can do now, to help, in Oregon.

Previously, Chelsea was the Director of Operations and Creative Director of Bonsai Mirai and has also worked for UNICEF in Latin America, facilitating workshops with indigenous communities on women’s empowerment and the UN Declaration of the Rights of the Child.  She trained in the US Marine Corps for four years, graduating first from her company of 200+ men and women at Officer Candidate School.

Lindsay Meyer-Harley is an online shop keeper, mom of two and activist.  Fueled by the political situation she was witnessing, she launched a new kind of online auction - Still We Rise - which operates via Instagram and where she curates with a select list of like minded brands, small business and artists.  Still We Rise has raised over $110,000 since its inception in 2017 and has benefitted organizations like the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, EveryTown, Moms Demand and Emily’s List.

Lindsay is gearing up for the fifth ever Still We Rise auction July 2-9 which will focus on fundraising efforts for ACLU, RAICES and Texas Civil Liberties Project to support the work in re-uniting families. Lindsay will share her story of how she has been able to raise a lot of noise (and a lot of cash) in such little time with Still We Rise and what we can do to be a part of the change she is making.
